Eminem at his prime is truly astonishing. The Marshall Mathers LP captures his emotions/problems so well, the album creates this picture of him living through these experiences, it's almost theatrically done in the sense that it feels like watching Million Dollar Baby and crying at how beautiful parts of the album can be.

Ditto, or should i say
"I feel ya dawg"

i dont know.

I'm saying you should give it a chance to let it grow on you. His music is definitely not something that's going to jump out and grab you on the first listen...

Of course, I've always found that my favorite albums are albums I've hated on first listen.

I hated In Rainbows and Ok Computer the first time I heard them, and now they're two of my favorite albums.

I hated Protest the Hero at first, and now I listen to their shit practically every day.

That's why I always give artists multiple chances. Probably 90% of the artists I love, I hated the first time I heard them.

Then i guess ill have to give him more of my time. But not right now, as my ipod is full as is.

Been on a new quest of music discovery and let me tell I found a good one, a real dark horse.

That 1 Guy - The Moon Is Disgusting (2007)

themoonisdisgustingqv0.jpg

Nothing about this album struck me at first, the album name wasn't great, wasn't fond of the song names and I didn't like the genre (fucked if I can place it now) it was slotted into.
Then I listened to "Buttmachine" (I know, right?) and I was hooked. I don't know why this guy isn't more popular, all the sounds are from him and his one instrument.
Listen to Buttmachine and funk out.

Found a lot of good albums recently, prepare for long post:

of Montreal
Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?

50qsu8.gif

Genre: Indie Pop / Indie Rock
Release Year: 2007
If you like them you might like...: Islands, Animal Collective

Usually I hate indie music with a strong passion, of Montreal are funky as fuck though so I'll make an exception. People seem to either love em or hate em though (the vocals can be hard to get used to), you were warned.
It's a very disco album too, energetic and slightly camp. If you like it you should check out Islands, they are similar but minus the disco.

Recommended Songs:

Gronlandic Edit:

Suffer For Fashion:

Black Moth Super Rainbow
Dandelion Gum

rrlfdu.gif

Genre: Experimental / Psychedelic / Electronic
Release Year: 2007
If you like them you might like...: Tobacco, Animal Collective (maybe)

As the name might suggest, Black Moth Super Rainbow are a very weird 5 piece band. Hard to describe their sound... dirty electronic with heavily modified vocals, I can only make out the words properly in one song.
Very experimental, very satisfying. Check out Tobacco if you dig it.

Recommended Songs:

Forever Heavy:

Sun Lips:

Air
Moon Safari

Genre: Electronic / Ambient
Release Year: 1998
If you like them you might like...: Zero 7, [URL="http://www.last.fm/music/R
