The first in-game screenshots of Guilty Gear 2 Overture for the Xbox 360 have surfaced.
Now, if you haven't heard already, this is the first "true" sequel to Guilty Gear and its taking the series in a whole new direction that entangles 3D fighting sequences with real-time strategy elements.
Way different, yes. Is it for the better? Hell no. The Guilty Gear series was well established as one of the prime 2D fighting game franchises. Making such a radical change to the series' original formula makes no sense whatsoever at this point.
Though, if we can get over the fact that this is a Guilty Gear game, it looks good for a strategy title. Hopefully the gameplay will prove to be just as good.
