3.40 OE weirdness

There is a psp that i know and it has its firmware on 3.40 OE and a weird problem has been occurring. The problem is the psp cant play much homebrew and can no longer visibly enter recovery menu. For example: There is PSP revolution on it and when its started up the screen turns black and that never happend to the psp before it could always play it. When entering the recovery (since i cant access any thing from the black screen of the psp revolution) it starts but quickly fades to black i have to guess where the exit part is to go back the the xmb. To see in the recovery menu i have to hold the R button and push the "on button" up and i see for a second the recovery menu. The only homebrew that works is my tekken 3 psx game i made, if that is homebrew.
What should i do to solve this mystery?

try to get a pandora battery and memorystick and flash 3.71 m33-2 on it? Or put the files you need to downgrade back to 1.5 and do the run program at /psp/recovery/ ?

Try upgrading to 3.52M33, then update to 3.52M33-4.
See if it works.
Does PSP Revolution work before? or it gives a blank screen since the first time you've played?
 
May be a stupid question but have you pressed the brightness button? 3.40oe still has the brightness issues with some boards

If every still doesn't work after upgrading, format your flash1
(go to recovery menu, choose "Advanced" -> "Format flash1 and reset settings")

and if this STILL doens't work, then it's probably a hardware failure.
 
lol i had that to. that i cant go to recover menu. just go to settings and press the one that said return the psp to restore default settings.

if you did that you can go to recover menu.

dont worry your psp will stay at 3.40 oe-a
if you did default settings.
