After a long string of rumors and confirmation from Famitsu yesterday, Capcom has officially announced Lost Planet Colonies for the Xbox 360 and PC.
Colonies extends the Lost Planet experience with the addition of three new game modes, six all-new online multiplayer modes, additional multiplayer maps, new weapons, cross platform multiplayer battles, and five new playable characters. Essentially, it's a standalone expansion pack that includes all of the content from the original game plus a bunch of extras.
The title will be released under Microsoft's "Platinum Hits" label at the budget price of $29.99. Oddly enough, save game files will not be cross compatible and owners of the original won't be able to compete against Colonies owners online.
Lost Planet Colonies will ship to North American retailers on May 27. Hit the jump for screenshots and details on the new content.[blockquote2]New modes for single player campaign
