PlayStation Home Delayed, Closed Beta Extended

Expecting PlayStation Home this spring? Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's not happening. Not a chance. Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that it is extending the duration of the closed beta for PlayStation Home to summer 2008. As a result, a further number of registrants will soon be invited to test the service and the open beta has been pushed back till fall. From the release: [blockquote2]We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective PS3 users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusion that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today,” said Kazuo Hirai, President and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. “Our overarching objective is to provide users with new gaming experiences that are available only on PLAYSTATION Home. They should just release it & upgrade as they go. thats what they was going to do in the 1st place I cant see whats changed.

I mean if someone hacked the Sony store ... hacking a half assed system where people plan to use their credit cards to buy virtual furniture or clothes seems risky .... i want it to come out just as much as anyone else. but i mean since we already waited monthssssssssssssss afew more wont kill me .
