THQ has announced that it is working on a expanded video game adaptation of New Line Cinema's forthcoming 3-D movie Journey to the Center of the Earth. In development for the Nintendo DS, the game is said to feature seven worlds pulled directly from the live-action film, allowing players to reprise the role of all three of the film's main characters - Trevor, Sean and Hannah.
Additionally, the game will offer extra content not found in the film. Players will be able to partake in a number of mini-games in which they search for dinosaur remains and decipher ancient ruins.
Journey to the Center of the Earth is scheduled for simultaneous release this summer to coincide with the film's opening date on July 11.
