Problem with loading psx games loading & saves on psp...

Problem 1(Resolved):

Loading psx games....

Okay well I finally Upgraded to the latest Custom firmware 3.90M33-3 and now I put Resident Evil 1 also RE3 on the memory stick but I tried loading the game and it stops on the PS logo at the beginning but the weird thing is it does not freeze because I can press start and I can change the game setting and stuff but it wont load the game? so I tried 2 games so far...any ideas guys is it maybe just the compatibility of the game?

Problem 2:

Game save load problems for psp games after upgrading to 3.90M33-3 from 3.40 OE......

I played Final Fantasy: CC in 3.40 OA Custom Firmware....then I went and upgraded to 3.52 then after that straight to 3.90 M33 and then 3.90 M33-3, I heard upgrading causes save problems??? is this the reason it is not working?

I am going to b e trying Silent Hill 1 and Grand Turismo 2.

Also I had a question about what folder I put the psx games in so I just make any name for the folder or do I need a special name for it like for RE 1 I would need "SLUS00747" I read this had something to do with the saves or ID or something I hope you guys can help me out here.

When you convert a game using PSX2PSP, you can edit the SaveID (also can be used for already converted games). Certain SaveIDs activate special fixes and such.

SLPS-01222 is the SaveID that fixes RE2, although I don't recall it being needed for RE1 & 3. The folder name doesn't matter, btw.
 
Okay so that was not the problem I just played Grand Turismo 2 on it...but I think I did something bad.....I just converted the saves to psx saves or w/e it asked me to do that before I started playing the game....and I tried loading the games saves but I could not load them because it said it was corrupt?????

It's a problem with the game then. Maybe your ISO file is corrupt. You could also try loading the game by using a older version of POPS (the PSOne emulator). Sometimes the older versions have better compatibility with certain games.

But I'm pretty sure RE 1 and 3 run fine without popsloader. It's more likely that the ISO files are corrupt.

I did try every old pop's loader version on my PSP, from 3.01 - newest and non work with those 2 games. I should get a hold of the actual psx games and copy them.

Hey x3sphere thx for the help but I need to ask you if you know what's wrong with the games saves I cannot load my saves anymore for let's say Final Fantasy:CC, I noticed when I started a PSX game it was Silent Hill actually it said something about converting games saves to psx???? is there a way to load my psp games saves again...I also backed them up way before starting to play a psx game.

hmm.. well, it shouldn't. However, FF:CC was designed to run on firmware 3.71 and up I believe. I'm surprised the game worked on 3.40 OE-A, but anyways, it's possible that the game was not saving correctly when you were on 3.40 OE-A. Which means... the save file you have now is basically useless in 3.90 M33.

I presume new saves are working fine 3.90 M33?
