ISO lag a lot but CSO just a little bit?

Hello,

I have got 2 backups of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, one .iso file and the other one I made a level one compressed .cso.
They both lag and I have heard that the game should be running smooth as an .iso, but my iso lags that much that it isn't playable, but the .cso version of it runs with a small lag.
Different settings such as setting the cpu clock to 333mhz don't resolve the problem.

My PSP:
4.01 M33-2
More information needed?

You could try with the other umd modes. Ill dump my copy, play around with the settings and get back to you.

EDIT: Just dumped it and my psp wont recognize either the iso or cso so I can't test it.

Have you a pandora set up, might be worth flashing back to 3.71 or something and trying that.

I have it and i suffer no lag on 4.01 M33 with a Sandisk 4gb Card. 333mhz Clock speed.

Strange. Do you have got other programs running? Like the Fastloader?

downgrade to 3.40 OE-A,its the best one for running iso games(but not all)

What UMD mode are you using and what have you set your game cpu speed to?
good question,GTA reqires proccesor speed to be set to 666 or 999 for best results and maybe he is using 333 and since cso is an compressed game it lags a little
give me +rep if it works
+rep for jake!!!

I never use those apps and never have it.

Thinking about it, have you any plugins, F0 themes etc installed?

@biro
The max speed of the psp cpu is 333, not 666 or 999.

@Shadow
What format is your memory stick at the moment? I read somewhere that it should be formatted as the fat file format.

I searched a lot on the Internet and I didn't find anything useful, but now I have found this http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=6141 and the explanation seems to be very logical. I am using a genuine Sony 4 gb stick and it has got a write speed of 1,5 Mb/s. The lags only occurs then, when the Memory Stick lamp is flashing.
I made my PSP back to 3.71 and there were no changes. Is 3.40 even working with a PSP Slim&Lite?

@january Wich Sandisk memory stick exactly are you using? Do you use something like a Sandisk Ultra/Extreme memory stick?

No, Standard 4gb Blue Sandisk Genuine Card. I used GTA:VC as the ISO & not as CSO.
