:\ ...i dunno why people are bashing vista so bad...i remember seeing this video ages ago though and it is pretty cool.
 
I don't cry about it, I just hate it..

Too slow for my taste, XP is faster doesn't make me lose 10FPS in each game, doesn't come with half the crap vista does, doesn't drain me all the ram vista does, etc,etc,etc...

(Don't get me started on vista)
 
I am using VIsta at the moment and I guess it is not a good choice...I usually got mad because it always say I need to download something for update on some programs
 
I love DRM.
I love compatibility issues.
I love overbearing security.
I love having to confirm every click I make with 27 other clicks confirming , yes i meant to click that, yes im sure i meant to click that, yes im sure that im sure that im sure that im sure that 3 months 14 days 16 hours and 3 minutes ago , I asked you to run a program!

Most of all I love running every application on my pc at startup so even though i have 8 gigs of ram my pc runs like it has 32 mb.

The only thing im not sure about... is which name they tried to sell this pos under i like the most. We have:
Windows vista
windows vista premium (must be the one with the shiny cd this guy had)
windows mohavi
windows 7 , again a glorified re release of vista.

I think mohavi, I got a kick out of how the people were blindly praising the bright colors obiviously hoping for a free copy of what ever it is they were being showed.

I'm curious what compatability issues you have now. In the begging there were some but it was not on vistas end. Now anything except ancient software should work (not saying all casue im sure there is an exception). The secuirty on vista is better than xp, second you can turn off uac with like 4 clicks and a restart.

I dont udnerstand what your talking about with the running of everyprogram. If you have that many programs run at start you should check msconfig and disable them. Also that is on the software side not os side.

A lot of the info out there is misconceptions. Like gaming performance. Vist is onpar if not better than xp sp3. If you are statinga 10fps loss something is wrong and its not vista. I have better fps in crysis dx10 on vista then xp only by about 2 but i have never experienced what most poeple cry about. Nor has a majority of the peopel. Most is misunderstood. For example ram use. It doesnt use all that ram it pre caches your most used applications for faster load times, freeing it up immediatley for use when needed thus only creating a faster platform and causeing no slowdown whatsever. Plust you can turn it off if you really wanted.

Sorry i jsut hate all the vista bashing that is missunderstood or just completely innacurate.

Edit: now i am not saying you need to upgarde to vista as you dont there is nothing wrong with xp its just not better. Vista is however proven by benchmarks to be just as fast if not faster then xp in multiple scenarios. Now also keep in mind you are looking at 1-5% differnce which is like nothing it comes down to a few seconds or a few fps. Final though vistas only real problem is file transfer speeds. I have no idea why it only goes at like 30mb/s.

Edit 2: Just some bechmarks to back my claims lol. I would run my own but way to lazy. http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,2845,2302495,00.asp.

On a second note myself and darkchild have gotten into this before :). Vista was a bit sluggish in the begginging with a lot of things but nothing crazy. 7 is going to be awesome waiting till i can order a oem copy.

Yes you can turn off all the annoying things in vista, or you could save time and just run xp to start.

My annoyance with vista , is because im tech support. Im sick of explaining to angry customers how to get their new pc to do what their old one did.

Nothing you can say , can prove this fact wrong. The average user cant use vista. Yes any one of us could make it work and cut out the annoying parts. But customers cant, family cant, friends cant.

Vista = all my time spent fixing brand spanking new pcs because they are a pain to use.

I can totally sympathize with you on having to deal with people who don't know how to use computers lol. However i dont agree with blaming ignorance on an os. But as i said there is nothign wrong with xp or vista so choose the one you like. I say screw them both and bring on 7
