I have problems burning games/backups for my Wii

Hi,
I have problems burning games/backups for my Wii.I work with a Samsung SH-S183A and my DVD's are Samsung Pleomax DVD+R 8x.My friend told me I need to change my booktype into DVD-rom.I did that but it didn't worked.Any idea or suggestion so that I can solve this problem.

Some brands of DVD-R don't work, you should try various, though I heard that (ironicly) Sony DVD-R work great!

Though, be warned, you *MUST* record each game at 4x, not higher, not lower.
