PAL games on an NTSC PSP?

This is probably a dumb question, but is it possible to run PAL PSP games on an NTSC PSP? I've goofed around with this and haven't had any luck.

the region of the games doesn't matter.the PSP is region free.
the only thing that region matters for is Video UMDs which are region locked.

There really isn't such a thing as a "PAL" NTSC. Like all other handhelds, it's independent of TV standards. That said, Sony made the timing ALMOST that of NTSC. Because of this, Sony has always lagged on "PAL" support - it was several revisions of the firmware before Sony supported 25Hz videos. It was several revisions of pops before Sony supported PAL PSX games. They are delaying TV-out on the Slim until they figure out how to get the PSP to output PAL compatible video.
