R4 stuck at loading screen

Ok, i have reformatted both by the panasonic sd formatter and vista (but not xp) the micro sd and added v1.18 R4DS fw files but when i start the ds it stops at the loading screen and goes no further.

It is a genuine R4 revoultion card (right?), the box has the web address http://www.r4ds.com on it so...

I know the cart works as i have another micro sd working on the same flash cart, but cannot get this 4gb sandisk to work, before i formatted it it seemed to work fine so what has changed?

Not sure what else to try now. Help!

I believe the issue is the memory card since it is a 4gb card it is considered a SDHC card (High Capacity). I do not believe the R4 can accept SDHC cards

Hmm Yes, The other cards are a lot smaller. I will look into that as i saw all kinds of patch's for sdhc - i will research those.

If you have an original R4, there are no patches for anything anymore. You should get a newer card.

Get an AK2i or Cyclo. IMO, those are the best ones out there.

Personally i would buy the acekard 2i but the R4 cards are not mine and i have been asked to update them etc.

Support for R4 stopped some time ago, i understand.

Support for the R4 did indeed stop a loooonnnngggg time ago...and if those cards are even slightly new then they're definitely fakes. Even if the R4 you have is real it's very outdated now.

The Acekard is cheap on DX although personally for a DSL i'm happy with my Cyclo.
