Welcome to the official thread about the (rumors on the...) PSP-3000.

Evidence #1:
http://exophase.com/psp/rumor-psp-3000-in-production-first-alleged-photos-surface-6611.htm

Evidence #2:
http://www.pspgen.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7478

Evidence #3:
http://www.qj.net/Jack-Tretton-Sony-considering-PSP-with-hard-drive-internal-memory/pg/49/aid/122241

Evidence #4:
http://exophase.com/psp/380-m33-coming-third-psp-model-in-the-works-2838.htm

Evidence #5:
http://www.qj.net/PSP-3000-series-image-found-on-Sony-website/pg/49/aid/116932

So, after putting all of this together, I think that:
Someday, Sony will release a new PSP model which will include the following:
*Some cosmetic changes
*New button with the PS logo on it, right next to volume buttons, to replace the old 'HOME' button.
*To the right of the volume buttons, there will be a built-in microphone.
*Sony will include the TA-088 inside those models, together with a different processor.
This will (try) to completely prevent users from installing cfw.
*The new models will include an internal hard drive

Sony's comment on the PSP-3000:

In the attachments you can find a few more pics (AFAIK, the source which originally published them (on PSPCHINA.net) posted 6 pics, I only found 4. if some1 can find the rest i'd be glad.)

Awesome
Yes. Duh.

You have the exophase news.
QJ news from almost 5 months ago, and one from last week, which just confirms that Sony is thinking about a new model now that technology is cheaper (wow, didn't expect new stuff ever!)
Plus the lan.st news from almost 8 months ago.
The PSPGen article you linked is about Despartar.

Versions of the PSP don't need their own threads, especially when they aren't even available yet.

I don't see what the problem is, to be honest. He just created a thread to discuss rumors surrounding the PSP-3000.

Anyway it's hard to say if the leaked pics are real but I wouldn't be surprised if the next PSP model includes a built-in microphone. The inclusion of a hard drive may be a possibility also, as Sony has said on numerous occasions that they are considering it.

Btw, I noticed you missed this one: http://exophase.com/psp/380-m33-coming-third-psp-model-in-the-works-2838.htm. A firmware file was found that presumably references a third PSP model.

Once a dick, always a dick.
I don't see what's wrong, it's just a speculation thread about the PSP-3000 (which will of course arrive sometime)

and x3 thanks:D
and also I did posted that thing (evidence #4), i'll just add the exophase link instead of the lan.st

Since this thread was created the PSP-3000 was officially announced. The jist of it is the new LCD screen used with an improved response time and contrast ratio which will show/give a noticeable improvement and have a built-in mic.

I hope they improve the analog stick smoothness, and im going for it if it works with CFW. There's nothing better then a good perfect gaminig console.
