For several months, i've had an issue with my psp 3000, where no UMDs would work. I think i may have found the issue though, and wanted to know if there were any homemade ways of fixing it.
After messing with my nephews psp, i found that there are two switches that need to be pushed for the laser and the spinner to power up.
One, which is obvious, is the one to the right of the spinner, and hard to miss.
The 2nd one, which is not as easy to see, is near the top left hand corner of the umd drive. The unit usually looks like this
I noticed on my psp however, the unit was there, but the black button that is supposed to be sticking out was not.
I have not found anything that works as a substitute yet, but i have heard of people being able to fix this problem on there own, and was hoping that if anyone knows, that they can explain how it's done.
