Today Bungie has revealed the first details of their post-Halo project, Destiny. Following their departure from Microsoft, Bungie signed a 10-year publishing deal with Activision.
Set on a post-invasion Earth and its surrounding solar system, Destiny will be a persistent world shooter where players are free to explore. You play as a Guardian, a defender of the last city left on Earth.
I had an eye on the game before the reveal. The 'always online, people jump in to help you, mmo-esc' idea has completely turned me off. Not the kind of game I was looking for.
sounds like this might be a launch title for the next-gen.
idk how i feel about the persistent online, I'll probably give the game a chance. mass effect 1 comes to mind when they talk about exploring entire worlds, and while mass effect did do it decently, it was pretty lackluster. we'll see i suppose.
