So recently i've really been into guitars. I've started learning since Nov 08 and its been going good. I've learnt most basic chords and i've learnt a few songs here and there. Well anyway, whos your favorite guitarist and why? Also, post your favorite song that they feature in (via Youtube). This should be a great way to share some cool guitar songs.

Anyway, i'll start it off. My favorite guitarist is Slash from Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver. He's pure awesome'ness. Heres my favorite song of his:

Same as Chat, Purple Haze was so good to listen to.
Now I don't listen to music that features guitars much so I'll go with Hendrix.

John Frusciante. I like his solo work, I honestly feel a spiritual connection whenever I listen to it. He really puts all of his heart and soul into music.

Favorite song is hard to choose... but, I'd have to say "Central"

Luke Hoskin (Protest The Hero) - clueless about it, but amazing.
Brian Haner aka Synyster Gates (Avenged Sevenfold) - Unique style.
Paul Waggoner (Between the Buried and Me) - wow.
Dustie Waring (Between the Buried and Me) - also wow.

Not of all time, but still awesome.

He's just pure awesomeness. I've never seen someone play the guitar that well and sing.

Hendrix is pretty good, but his version of The Star Spangled banner is terrible, it sounds like he held down random strings and strummed as fast as possible.

Coheed and Cambria is good, haven't heard enough to complain though
