Well, Google Wave itself is very useful, yeah. But we have an IRC channel and a forum. Those seem like better alternatives than Google Wave, IMHO.

Ah, my bad i'm not familiar with the gmail/google wave.
I figure he made an email to gmail.
Just like how hotmail has "@hotmail.com" and "@live.com"
