Alright Kiddies , I found something pretty awsome on teh web the homebrew of the PS3 .

I DID NOT MAKE THIS I FOUND IT AND MADE A TUT ON THESE FORUMZ

I've only tested this one way through the card reader on my 80GB PS3 and it worked.

requirements
1. Playstation 3 xD
2. Memory sick pro duo or whatever the fuck there called now a days (no SD cards dont work , no mini sd cards dont work )
3.Required Files

required steps
1.download this file first >> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7SMPJR80
2. Extract the AVCHD folder root of a flash Memory Device.
3. Place your roms into the AVCHD folder.
4. Go to the Video section in the XMB on your Playstation 3.
5. Browse the contents of the Memory Stick and select Select the AVCHD file
6. PS3 Filer will boot up and it will bring you to the filer browser.
7. Select the NES Rom you want to start up.
8. Press the triangle button and go to the numeric pad 1 press "x" on it then go to numeric pad 2 and press "x" on it also
9. Press the triangle button again to leave the video menu crapola and play Nintendo on your PS3.

Ok, forgive me, this does work..how?? I only tried FF1 and it had no sound but wow..nice find.
Time for a firmware update I'm sure..unless Sony let this be possible...hehehe.

so the file viewer itself is homebrew or PSN-made?

if that is true this makes no sense o.o

  • You cannot read or write local files. 1
  • You cannot list the contents of a directory.2
if that is true then HOW ON EARTH is this FILE BROWSER(2) emulating a ROM(1)?

or does it have the files Embedded in it?

Ya got me, all I know is that it's launced in the same way you launch any video file..A directory pops up with all your roms listed and you select one and then it's just like you remember it, minus the sound of course.I don't think you can save any thing though..Never tried it, only tested FF1 so far and didn't try the game save.It would be nice to se this fully running with sound and save support..

You gonna update this if a newer version comes out crazy?

Well, if you decompress the jar, you'll find the various classes. There's a class for making file lists, and utilities for files. If the bytecode isn't scrambled, it should be easy enough for someone to convert the bytecode back to java.
