Publisher Konami today pegged a June 29 date on Ninety Nine Nights II, the follow-up to 2006's fantasy hack n' slash. Like its predecessor, N3 II is exclusive to Xbox 360.

Set in a ravaged world blighted by relentless adversaries, the sequel will introduce a new cast of supporting characters, in addition to devastating new weaponry and a plotline that Konami proclaims is "sure to surprise everyone."

But I was committed after that birthday party...

No joke, I'm freakin' pumped about this... The original N3 rocked loads and loads of face. The only people that didn't like it were turned off by, I'm convinced, the brutal difficulty. To be honest I hope they keep it. That's one of the few things that draws me to games nowadays, I mean damn- The difficulty in most games is laughable any more. They're just tailoring to people putting TIME into games. IMO that's not even what gaming is about. Of course, then again, I was a Capcom/Nintendo/Squaresoft child. Yeah, believe it or not, once upon a time even Nintendo and Squaresoft games were pretty damn difficult (Capcom games for the most part are still pretty brutal, talking about, for instance, the ORIGINAL edition of DMC3, both the new 8-bit tribute-paying MegaMan games, MegaMan 9 and 10, ANY Monster Hunter game, Street Fighter 4, SSF4, etc., then The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros., then Final Fantasy [8-bit original or FFOrigins variant, the rest are easysauce, if you think you really played that game, play it on something other than Dawn of Souls, douchers], Final Fantasy 3 {SNES}, respectively) and they rewarded you not ONLY for the time you put in, but for your improving skill. Too many games lack the whole skill-rewarding thing except for like online multiplayer. Ugh, I'm ranting. I'll stop for now, haha.
