Turn the sound on your PSP on. Are you trying to play patapon mute? The beat is going Dun-Dun-Dun-Dun. Wait for the first beat of four and enter Pata-pata-pata-pon then the beat (not you) will go pata -pata-pata-pon then after that you will hear the drm again and then you do pata-pata pata-pon again. Rinse and repeat.

Btw, if you can't get through the tut of patapon, i don't think the game is right for you as you probably lack all sense of rhythym (i know, wrong spelling)
