Question for ppl who play Guitar

Right now I'm in the process of buying a new electric. As of now I've narrowed my choices down to a Stratocaster or a Telecaster. I'm mainly leaning towards the Tele for its sound but it doesn't come with a whammy bar. The Strat has one and seems to be more popular (if not too popular).

What do you guys recommend?

I'd get the telecaster if I were you. How popular a guitar is doesn't matter when you're playing it; what matters is how it sounds. Whammy bars are basically for show anyway. =P

I never really liked the look but I'd prefer the sound of one over the strat.

stratocasters just sound... =/ to me, wheras telecasters sound great

Questions to you is though
1) what type of music do you play
2) would you actually use the whammy bar

I play mostly classic rock. I guess it would be nice to have a tremolo bar around if I wanted to do some soloing or something.

I'm pretty much decided on the telecaster anyways. thx for the feedback.

Whammy bars are pretty useless, especially if you dont have one of those locking things for the strings, cuz then the whammy will get your guitar all out of tune.
