Rock Band or Guitar Hero

Ok, here is my question...

from what I heard the Rock Band package consist of a mic, a guitar & drum set.
and the new complete guitar hero set is also the same... mic, guitar & drum set.

now my question is... I am thinking of buying a set... which one is better?
I was told that they ar the same, your question should be more of what type of music would you like to be playing...

also, i was told that you cannot use Rock Band Peripherals on any Guitar Hero Games and vice versa.... so If I was to buy one... i need to stick with on..

so which one should I get?

any input will be appreciated..

there both fun and as far as i know u can use the guitar hero guitar on rockband (for 360 anyways) and i do prefer guitar hero's game set up so im thinking u should get that set up

alright.. thanks.. i have already bought one..

and it was a good decision too, since there seems

to be less available DLC on the Rockband 2 for the wii..
