It's the same for my printer too. It's all the junk software they bundle and the localisation too.

Guessing they include every driver for all their printers dating back to the 80s maybe.

It's the same with my printer, comes with some software like Zero said, but now with Windows 7 I just plug it in and it automatically downloads the driver only, and it's done in like a minute.

That includes their Photosmart / OfficeJet software suite. There should be an option to just download the driver though
