3.40 OE-A Install Guide

Wooooow it worked perfectly! Thanks a ton x3sphere! Can I just format the memory stick to get rid of all unnecessary files?

Yup, sure can, you can format it, just remember your UMD savegames and such, don't wanna lose those!

i think i need a BIG help. i wanna play isos on my psp but i just dont know how to begin. what do i do first? downgrade my firmware? i have the 3.40.

plz help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is no downgrade available for 3.40... You my friend are screwed

For now, at least... POSSIBLY forever, but we don't know, it depends on if/when a downgrader becomes available, for which there is no possible way to tell when that will happen. Plus, SHAME SHAME SHAME elfico,:glare: you don't get cool FW on your PSP for ISOs, which are illegal unless you dump them yourself anyway, you get it for homebrew, including emulators and such.

I'm working with a PSP v3.02 OE-A, and I've been downloading the v3.02 OE-B.
My problem:
It asks to put it in the "/PSP/GAME150" folder. I don't have one of those. I tried renaming, creating a new one, and just putting it in the "/PSP/GAME" folder. NOTHING WORKS.
Can anyone help?

So you made a PSP/GAME150 folder, and put the oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% folder inside the GAME150 folder, correct? If not, then that's what you're supposed to do.

Em-u-late

PopStation! The portable PSone I always dreamed of!
Emulators! All the cartridge games I owned and played growing up...
eBook Readers! I'm literate.
I don't bother with ISOs either, when I want to play a PSP game I buy it. (It's not like there are that many I'm actually interested in playing...)

A question. I have 3.10OEA. What do I have to do to upgrade? There is no need to go back to 1.50? Also I have read other site they said that 3.40OEA had many problems and bugs.

Is that True?

Not at all. 3.40 OE-A has better compatibility with UMD / PSone games.

To upgrade you just need to follow the guide, it tells you exactly what to do if you're on a previous OE revision.

There has been some bugs in it like the configuration menu in recovery mode but it can easily be fixed by using my guide HERE. But nothing major. It has more benefits than bugs.

It's all in the dice...

I explained the process in the thread First Post be gentle - ISO and OE3.4 Questions.
If you have any specific question about the process after reading that thread make a post in the PSP Help Center.
I've been planning on writing a nice little tutorial on using PSX2PSP so I can just link people to it when they ask... someday.

EDIT: Eh, I put a tutorial together real quick today... you can find it HERE.

Pirates of the Carribean - At Worlds End will not start using FW 3.03OE-C. Upgraded to 3.40OE-A and it works fine. So far so good, so I did my wifes PSP.
