3.71 M33 update complains of version even under 3.52 M33-4 kernel (Solved: PEBKAC)

The title pretty much says it all: can't upgrade to 3.71 M33-1 because "This program requires 3.52 M33-3 or higher."

My setup is a PSP-1001 (phat) running 3.52 M33-4 with /PSP/GAME set to run under 3.52 kernel.

I've started over from scratch several times (downgraded to fw 1.50 and back to 3.52 M33-4 without a problem), downloaded "clean" copies of the updates... I've even successfully upgraded a friend's PSP to 3.71 M33 and the same files on the same memory stick still complain on my PSP.

Any suggestions and insights will be greatly appreciated.

Usually you may get this error because the folders are in PSP/GAME150

It just shows up as corrupted data when in the GAME150 or GAME352 folders.

In recovery set it to 3.52kernal instead of 1.5

I keep the game kernel set to 3.52 in recovery by default, but I tried toggling it to 1.50 and back to no avail.

Nevermind, I must have forgotten to apply the 3.52M33-4 patch this last run through. Appears to be working now.
