The firmwar 5.50GEN-C will releace tomorrow evening.
This firmware will allow you to run umds and isos which require one of the newer firmwares without patching them.

this is for 1000 and 2000 only right?
 
I wonder what's the nature of this fix, and if games that actually use higher firmware features work just as well.
 
Could work. I suppose if they already have an iso driver they could auto-patch it. The windows tool works, so I would assume an on-the-fly kinda thing would too.
 
It isn't fake. Check out pspgen site. They have it in their news.
 
I always preferred M33 over GEN but it looks like GEN is taking over now.

gen-c is out. psn does not work. I could not get the 5.50 pspbtjnf patch by bosshunter to work. so I just edited the bin.
 
A lot was complaining with 5.50 GEN-C. Lol.
 
we are actually up to 5.50 GEN-D, releasing 21/10/09 around 8pm GMT +1
GEN-C had major issues and bugs, GEN-D addresses these issues.
