In the Israeli-Palestine Conflict thread, some interest was expressed in Darfur and the other problems Africa is facing at this time, so I figured I would go ahead and start a thread devoted to the discussion of the crises over there.

Possible topics include the genocide in Darfur, AIDS, poverty in general, lack of education, and lack of sanitation. I'll leave it up to you guys to start the discussion.

I think the genocide in Darfur needs to be more publically recognized, which was I guess the original motive for creating this thread in the first place. Hundreds of thousands of people (450 000+) are being absolutely massacred, and most people here haven't even heard of it.

what part of "different thread" confuses you?

Nothing... I'm just saying, we're fighting our meaningless war while there are still more pressing issues. We waste Trillions on an ego trip, when we could be spending a fraction, and actually fixing problems.

Of course, "saving black people" isn't as noble a cause to American's as killing brown people...

Maybe I should peice the statement together for you...

There's an AIDS epidemic, and Genocide in Darfur... V V V

And here we are fighting a war with no point in Iraq...

Cleaned up this thread a little. If you want to talk about the war in Iraq, go to that thread, that's where I put your posts.
