This will unclutter my setup a great deal, but I'll wait to see some reviews before pulling the trigger. I don't want a huge loss in quality.

Doubt you'll get a loss in quality considering that is the reason they took so long to release this (to make sure you wouldn't).

It wouldn't do much for my current setup as mine is literally a desk setup but it would work great for a living room setup
 
I've got a 4' optical cable taut from the back of my 360 to my coffee table when I get setup. It's quite annoying and my stupid cat always rams into it when doing laps around the house full speed pulling shit out.
