Despite being brushed off to the side by Activision Blizzard in an internal effort to "realign" its slate of 2008-2009 titles, the Ghostbusters video game is still alive and well. Thing is, we don't know for sure who is publishing it. However, Canadian actor Dan Aykroyd, who is quite clued up in the world of Ghostbusters -- considering he helped write the original movie script -- dropped word of the video game effort earlier this morning on Dallas radio station 105.3 KLLI. During the talk show segment, Aykroyd revealed that the title will be published by Atari and is "a year away" from release.
Atari has yet to make an announcement regarding their intent to publish Ghostbusters, meaning it is possible that a deal with Activision is not completely finalized yet. Hopefully some form of official word comes soon.
