BitTorrent Tracker Mininova Goes Legal-Only

There will be another *nova one, I'd guess.
Just like after the suprnova shutdown, mininova took over, maybe it's a micronova next time.... lol....

On top of that almost everything has like 3 or 4 trackers. Then you have sites like Torrentz which index the indexers. The only way a torrent will die is if everyone stops seeding.

Yeah this is true but Mininova made it so easy to find everything, even people that know next to nothing about computers knew about it. Someone who casually pirates is not going to go through the trouble of scouring Google for new torrent sites or try to get on private sites for that matter.

The same can be said of TPB, though, and that's still up. Until TPB falls I don't think they can call it a victory yet.

Monova maybe? It exists, and seems to be doing OK. (still, I'd have preferred macroNova)
 
Im thinking .kickasstorrents is going to take over. They have quite a bit of ground already

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought when seeing MoNova, "ah, the successor already".
Maybe a mock Mo = More.... would fit :D
 
I honestly don't like Monova. The interface is cluttered, and some torrent links are really Usenet links.
 
Update: On 19/11/2009 Newzleech's host in Ukraine Colocall got raided by the country's secret service.
Newzleech wasn't targeted specifically. Every server in the building was removed as part of an unrelated
criminal case. Why they took every server nobody knows. Lots of legitimate Ukrainian businesses have
been affected. In case you're worried there was zero logs on the server so don't worry about that.

Unfortunately there isn't a recent backup on the server scripts. I am currently rebuilding the site from the
old backups that I have. Please be patient while the site is being rebuilt. We should be back before the end
of the year.

Sorry for the lack of updates.
