PC Blizzard: Mods A Terms of Service Violation In Diablo III

Like Battlefield 3 before it, Diablo III is the latest PC blockbuster that is forgoing its roots when it comes to the modding scene. According to a FAQ Blizzard handed out a recent press event, modding in D3 is not allowed. In fact, anyone found using mods will be subject to a violation under Blizzard's terms of service, which we assume, could result in suspension or closure of your Battle.net account.
No, for a variety of gameplay and security reasons, we will not be supporting bots or mods in Diablo III, and they'll be expressly prohibited by our terms of use for the game.
That's not a casual "we suggest" line, Blizzard is explicitly prohibiting the usage of mods across the entire game. While there's likely many reasons why Blizzard has chose to bar mods, we doubt any of them will sit well with gamers.[...]

Always on connection required and now mods are against the terms of service? I don't like the way things are going right now.
 
I had bad feelings about this game when they started removing/changing significant gameplay aspects from the first 2. Constant connection is always terrible for a single player game, and lack of support to mod the game really kills any replay value of single player.

inb4 "lol pc gamers crying".
 
Since when can you officially mod the first and second games? I wouldn't risk getting my Battle.net account locked because of it.
