wat version of GEN can i install in my psp 3k?
wat are d features of GEN?
is is true dat by installing GEN, i'll have d risk of my psp to be bricked?

dis is just a bunch of questions i like to know the answers b4 i try installing GEN on my psp 3k, bcoz i am considering just to install CFE on my psp 3k as i've heard that it's safer on the psp 3k, tnx!
 
Right, you can only install 5.03GEN and from what ive heard its safe.

but, i would advise CFE anyday...
 
tnx alex_e but from wat i've researched from various sites, i've learned that GEN is some kinda buggy, and it is still in its development state, but can you tell me what's the pros and cons of CFW and GEN, so dat i can weigh my options, tnx a lot!
 
Both are CFW, GEN is a CFW version (so to speak).

CFE kinda operates the same as CFW but is far safer as it is loaded as opposed to installs - With a 3k and no way to unbrick, for me it would be the prefered option.

Generally, GEN is safe but if you use certain homebrew apps there is a very real risk of a brick, which is considerably less then when using the CFE.
 
tnx a lot alex and january, now i am convinced that CFE is the best option, i'll install CFE on my psp-3k ryt now, but i've got a last problem, I don't know how!

can u post a link on how to install HEN R2 and CFE, coz i searched the forums and I didn't find a definite guide on how to install it, or better yet, can somebody make a guide on how to do dis?

BTW, i saw ur FAQ january and it was good, really really good. it's really informative and gave me a lot of insight
