ok so I'm on a holiday in singapore right now and i'm going to buy a psp slim in about 3 or 4 hours. the question I have got is which custom firmware m33 should i ask the shop keeper to put in the psp. i'm asking this because recently by brother bought a psp it had cfw 3.9 m33 on it or something and when i tried putting juiced in the memory stick and play it, it didn't work i think it was some kind of compatibility problem. Just now I saw that dark alex released a 4.1 m33 or something for the psp slim so i was wondering which CFW would be the best to put in the psp slim. I need some advise asap because i'm going in a few hours. anything else i should be worried bout like the memory card since i would be getting a 8gb memory card aswell. i appreciate the help :smile:

For me the best version is 4.01 m33-2 and the best Memory Stick is 8 GB.

PSP games have never had a region lock. If the saleman told you they "unlocked" it, he was blowing smoke up your -ss. It's videos that have the region lock, not games.

chily is right. If anything the issue my lie on your memory card (problem with compatibility issue) a many memory stick from asian teritory tends to be fake which you could run into problems... but as far as PSP being unlocked into a CFW, if it is done properly then you shouldn't have problems.
the reason i am saying that the MS could be a problem is because I had bought a MS on ebay 2 years ago, it was a 2G one, and boy was it fake... it lagged, didn't fit as many as the free space indicated... i never used it for games and updates... just music.

i have checked the memory stick is not fake and i get a 5 year garentee on it so if any thing goes wrong with the memory card i will just mail it to my cousin to bring it to the shop for me.
about the region thing. he actually showed my that normal psp can not play region 4,5,6 and 7 games. he tested it out on my psp and then his and it was true.
this problem may have happened to u. sometimes u download a game or buy a game it doesn't work on the psp well most likely it was region 4 and over.

noup man it's not like that the games have regions but it's like, EUR, USA, JAP, not restrictions region 1 - 8 is a lock system created for the DVD movies, the same here. xD
