The latest Major Nelson podcast brings official word that the first Call of Duty Black Ops DLC pack, entitled First Strike, is due out February 1 on Xbox Live. Priced at 1200 MS Points, it's a timed exclusive that ushers in four all-new maps, plus an additional zombie map.

Treyarch online director Dan Bunting sheds light on the design philosophies behind this map pack:

1200 MSP = $12 US?

Berlin Wall was also a cancelled map in Black Ops, wonder how close the DLC one is to the scrapped version.

Wonder what this means to PC users, and the mod tools that are also being rolled out.

I'd imagine the Mod Tools will allow for custom maps, but these Treyarch maps will be encrypted to prevent free distribution.

I've got 800 points in my account takes to the bing search promotion going on. By the time Feb comes I'll be able to redeem for another 400 and get these maps for free basically.
 
That looks to be a bit smaller then Firing Range but slightly bigger then Nuketown.

It's not that small, Shipment on CoD4 was small.
