Can NervOS brick my 2kv3?

I find IRShell doesn't quite work well with my 2kv3 mobo. It freezes often on me leading me to do that chickHEN dance.

NervOS offers lesser features but contains what I need.

So can anyone confirm this doesn't brick my PSP?

Iam going to start a new topic

What else are threads supposed to do? Stop being an idiot and make some sense or go back to your horribly coded site.

I lol'd hard.

But yeah, posts like 'Anything that touches flash will brick your PSP' and 'Lol' don't really help the thread, or on a wider scale the community, in any way. The most probable reason he made this thread was because he is unsure as to if and which operations of the application utilize the PSP's flash memory, which I think is a pretty vlid reason to start a thread

Having not really used the shell much myself, I've had to look into it; and from what I can see, the latest version is 2.2. Correct me if I'm wrong. There seems to be a hell of a lot of features in it, as to be expected with a shell I suppose, but not many of them seem to mess with the flash. As suggested above, just launching the application alone will certainly not brick your PSP. At least I can tell you that.

The media-based features that NervOS has, such as listening to music, viewing photos and launching homebrew will also definately not birck your PSP, because they have nothing to do with editing the flash, and so I see no reason why it would be accessed.

In your post, you mentioned that NervOS 'contains what you need'. If you would care to elaborate on what exactly it is that you are looking for from this shell, then perhaps we could provide a more specific answer to your question. As for now, the answer 'Certain features of the app can brick your PSP' will have to suffice.

I hope that helps.

The things I needed are exactly what you just mentioned. Media features and the filemanager along with a text editor.

I know that the ones I mentioned cannot brick my PSP but I am concerned that just by installing it would break it. So I think I will need someone who has experienced using this on a cursed mobo to come to a conclusion.

P.S. +Rep man very informative post unlike someone who has a "horribly coded website"

@gg14 - Did you experience a brick before?
