Can't Install CFW on PSP Slim

I have the new Red PSP2001 model (GoW Pack) and so I've read and read and read and I thought I had the process down. Even on these forums, Acerthief and others keep pointing people to the Noobie FAQs thread.

Following that FAQ, I go to FAQ7 to create a Magic Memory Stick (MMS). That FAQ sends me to this guide or to use the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller. I decided to use the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller since it would be easier.

I followed the steps got the MMS created, inserted it into my PSP, put the Pandora Battery into the PSP (which then the green light turns on, but the screen is still off), then I press X and wait for the lights on the left side to flash, but they never do.

I've looked on YouTube for videos on how to use the TOTALNewbi easyInstaller and I see that I've followed all the steps correctly. I'm not sure what's going on.

Can someone please help?

NEVERMIND. I tried another solution, and it still didn't work. Then I finally found Catb50 Team's Magic Memory Stick Creator v2.0 FULL and it worked just fine. Thanks alot!
 
I did the same thing catb50 program and it worked but, I still can't get DC7 to work....
'Game could not be started (80020148)

Could be a few things.......You have installed the TM-ipl?

System information does display 3,XX M33 or 4.01M33?
 
System information displays '4.05' still.... have I done something wrong??

And I'm sure TM-ipl has not been installed either I'm not sure what that is exactly???

What I do know is I got a "congratulations" following the DOS prompt install to make an MMS
 
Hit the New to modding link in my sig, first.

Sounds like you have the card but not the IPL hence you cannot boot to the DC7 (Holding L Dpad).

Do you a pandora battery? And which program did you use to create the MMS?
 
I hard-modded my battery and used Catb50 Team's Magic Memory Stick Creator v2.0 to make my MMS.

Whats IPL or what am'I missing???
 
IPL is the intial program loader, required to allow the program to boot fromt eh MS.

Inset MMS into PSP, press and hold the required key (Readme file should say which), insert pandora battery.

it should now boot to your menu.
