A PC release of Super Street Fighter IV is not the cards, primarily due to piracy, Capcom says. Series producer Yoshinori Ono delivered the crushing blow to fans in a recent interview with Japanese site 4gamer, lamenting that rampant piracy plagued the previous installment, prompting Capcom to take measures to protect the brand.

Otherwise, Ono says, a continuing climb in piracy would led to the belief that Street Fighter IV is essentially "free" in certain areas -- diluting its image in the process[...]

Meanwhile Valve and Blizzard continue to rake in the profits xD Honestly - I think the PC market is a whole different ballgame than on consoles. Even with piracy as rampant as it is, publishers should continue to support it, if only to retain trust. It's not as if they really stand to lose much - if at all. Heck, if SSFIV only sold 20K copies on PC (which it would hit EASILY), that'd certainly cover the overhead spent on porting.

The original Half Life was pirated en masse as well yet it's still one of the best-selling games ever.
