CFW 5.50 GEN-C Now Out!

UPDATE!

Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-C is now out from Team GEN! This release allows you to install and enjoy all the games that requires FW 5.55 and 6.00 and you don't have to patch anything.

Things you need to know:
1. This CFW is for PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 v1 and v2 ONLY!
2. The 5.03HEN-A will be updated with same opportunities

Changelog:
* Ability to run 5.51 + games without having to patch (UMD or ISO)

Known Bugs:
* IRShell can no longer launch ISO to patch the patch will be released in a few minutes

Notes:
*Once installed go into recovery and format flash one!
*Wireless does not work
*Because of the above note, neither the internet browser or PSPTUBE or any other app/homebrew that requires wireless to connect to the internet will work
*IR SHELL does not work from the game section in xmb but with the auto boot plugin enabled it does
*Ps1 games work

Heard it is very buggy, I recommend waiting for 5.50 GEN-D.

Yeah, i personally cant live without the wireless feature. I hope they come out with a fix for that.

Also, you dont have to use the xgen updater right?

I tested this on my TA-086 Phat, here's a few things I found out:

The following homebrew had problems:
PSPTube++ 2008/02/24 for CFW3.71 - No video is shown, audio is fine
iR Shell 5.00 - Runs with the usual 5.50 files, but trying to run a 5.50 flash patch gives a 800200D9 error

UMD/ISO/CSO:
I tested Gran Turismo on UMD and SMT: Persona in CSO format.

Gran Turismo crashed when saving after my car key file was rejected, so I deleted my car key file and started a new game, and it crashed trying to create the new save, GT doesn't work unpatched :closedeyes:

SMT: Persona kicked me back to the XMB with a 80020148 error when using Sony NP9660, same thing with M33 driver, and again, the same with UMD Required

GEN's on-the-fly patch doesn't work too well IMO :glare:

---Problems---
So far, the only problem I have with this firmware is that it still can't connect to the PS Store directly, instead of giving the "newer update available" error, it now gives "A connection error has occurred. (80109F01)"

---Overall---
I don't know about everyone else, but my wireless is working perfectly fine, and I can play 480x272 videos just fine (maybe because I'm on a Phat and everyone having the problem are on Slims? (IDK))

The one big thing about this update, the on-the-fly patching of newer games, doesn't work too well, so IMO it's not worth the hassle of updating if you're on 5.50 GEN-B2 or MHU, it's probably best to wait for GEN-D
