Chick hen R2 - it's harder then it seems!

Hi there, I've a PSP3004 and heard about the homebrew thing...
well after some web research, it's easy to see a lot of videos showing "how to" working just fine...but I just can make it work.

My steps were:

sys ver 4.2 -> 5.03 OK
copy h.bin, giffs and tiff to ms:\\PICTURE\ Didn't work
copy h.bin, giffs and tiff to ms:\\PSP\PHOTO\ Didn't work

can anyone help me?

Make sure you're using the right tiff (slim) and not both.
It also takes a few tries. When I first tried it, it took me about a douzen times (yes, I was counting). After that, you just have to get a hang of the keystrokes. Also, try restoring the system defaults, it's a lot easier that way (even if it doesn't seem so at first).

Just a tip, when you do get it running, don't turn off your psp. Just put it on sleep instead. That way, you won't have to re-enable it again.
 
- Restore System Defaults
- Clear your memory stick beforehand ( back up your shizzle )
- Make sure you have the slim.tiff from Davee's Devsite.
- There are many method's which work different on people's PSP's. Just look around and see what works for you.
- Don't turn off your PSP. Put it to sleep, therefore you won't have to keep re-enabling R2.
 
h.bin goes on the root of the memory stick not in the photo/pictures folder...

also I have slim i was doing this on and the first time I used it I had to have all those pictures and then some to get it to work... lately I have tried it again and can only have the slim.tiff file to get it to work... so play around with the amount of pictures you have in the folder..
 
My setup:
ChickHEN in the PHOTO directory. Nothing else in there. UMD Game in the drive. Auto-Start & Cache off.

Turn on the PSP, let it completely read the UMD, then start running ChickHEN. Works EVERY time, at least for me.
 
What dont u understand the instructions are simple.

TUTORIAL
So just like before depending on weather you have a PSP-1000 (fat) or PSP-2000 / PSP-3000 (slim) place the h.bin file in your MS root and the chickHEN folder with images in PSP/PHOTO on your memory stick pro duo. Now if you don’t have that folder PSP/PHOTO don’t panic just create it and place the folder in there.
For example if you have a PSP-3000 you would put the Slim ChickHEN folder in PSP/PHOTO so it looks like PSP/PHOTO/ChickHEN with the pretty egg gifs inside. (Sorry but we have to be crystal clear for some people it seems!)
Ok now in the PSP XMB go to Photo’s / Memory stick and then the chickHEN folder and wait! If it works you’ll see a few colours flash and then your PSP is rebooting itself loading up the chickHEN homebrew environment. Now you can go to Game in the XMB and load some homebrew!!. This time it will work!
