ChickHEN on Japanese PSP with TA-088v3

I have been trying for DAYS to get ChickHEN to execute on my Japanese PSP with TA-088v3 motherboard. However, I read the comments on the official announcement here at MForMature and found this:

ChickHEN on Japanese PSP-2000 TA-088 v3 doesn't work.

I have read many forums and comments and it seems that the people who try everything to get ChickHEN to load have Japanese PSP's.

I have tried R1 & R2 of ChickHEN over 100 times.
I have tried PHOTO & PICTURE folders.
I have restored PSP to default & Formatted Memory card.
I have tried different battery's & memory cards.
I have tried with and without images.
I have tried putting slim.tiff in a folder as well as just in PHOTO or PICTURE.
I have tried the "100%" solutions with the different images that go with slim.tiff.
Yes h.bin is in the root X:/ aka ms0:/.

Please Team Typhoon, look into this matter & release a fix.

Has this problem been acknowledged? Is there a fix being developed? Can anyone else confirm that Japanese PSP with TA-088v3 motherboard can successfully execute this exploit.

I can confirm. My PSP is PSP 2000, not 2001,...whatever and I've found my own way to execute my PSP since ChickHEN was only a "hello world" eggsploit.

Have you tried changing the 'CHARACTER SET' to US. I have a PSP 2000 with TA-088V3 and it works after i change it to US. Before that i also tried it with no luck of getting it working.

i can also confrim that it does work on a japanese slim TA88-v3, that was PSPident told me when i ran the homebrew without opening my psp.

at first i also can't execute all tiff exploit, but after i reformated, my original 32 mb Memorystick and chnage the charcter set to Multilingual latin 1.. and a liltle bit of patience and timing i was able to run chicken R2.

i sudgest to try all methods posted in here and those uploaded modified tiff files. it might help you in figuring out the method that works on your psp

Eureka!

Thank you aldwin, xiemphongthan, and happydance! Your combined responses have lead me to resolve this issue! Apparently changing the Character Set to "US", along with "ChickHEN Mod" (http://pspupdates.qj.net/ChickHEN-Mod-run-ChickHEN-enabler-much-smoother/pg/49/aid/131652) fixes the problem!

P.S. I see people block their MAC Address when they take a picture of their System Information screen. Is it really a security concern, or are people being obsessive?

No, it's dependent. When a PSP Homebrew Developer has created something which is unsigned by Sony (Illegal), he must block the MAC address as Sony could use it to track out the PSP. The MAC address will appear your position when you connect the PSP to the Internet. But if your PSP is offline all the time, no worry :)

Hello, I am the one who posted that on the official release page, and let me just say that I am glad you got yours to work, but I still have yet to make mine work, I tried your method of changing Character Set to "US" and dling the same mod that you did, I tried it on two different memory sticks. Still no luck :'(

edit : I have just loaded it using the new chickhen mod. Also it works 100% of the time for me if I scroll down to 2nd image and then wait after ive entered the chickhen folder.

ChickHEN Mod - Load ChickHEN smoother | ChickHEN R2, PSP Hacks - PSP Slim Hacks
Try this. When you open the folder, stay there and don't move
