Over the past few weeks, music fans have shown their distaste for the use of Kurt Cobain as a character in Guitar Hero 5. Although she was behind it, Courtney Love has decided to switch sides.
Despite showing she was behind the idea, Love stated on her Twitter page that she is planning to sue Activision.
"For the record this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bully's part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction," she said.
"WE are going to sue the shit out of ACtivision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises."
Activision vaguely responded to the protest stating Love had signed a written agreement and that the other two members of Nirvana, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, have no say in regards to the use of Kurt's likeness.
In a statement issued yesterday, however, Grohl and Novoselic say they are "dismayed and very disappointed in the way a facsimile of Kurt is used in the Guitar Hero game," adding, "The name and likeness of Kurt Cobain are the sole property of his estate
