PC Crysis 2 DX11 Ultra Patch Nears Release

That resolution is indeed nice. I doubt he'll be able to max it at that with a single 6970 though.

I'm just installing it now. My internet has been out of commission since last Friday, finally got it fixed.

We expect lots of screenshots :P

Do you have a save at the end of the game? The scenes there would look best I think.

First batch of shots :) Looks great, not really playable @ 2560 though (around 15-20 FPS). At 1080p it runs fine, so I think I will play through this on my TV until AMD's 7xxx series comes out.

This'll be the one to aim to get 60fps+ on come September when I'll likely be building a mini supercomputer. I heard from TotalBiscuit that 60fps+ is only really possible with everything on max at 1080p with two nvidia 580s in SLI.

Looks like the DX11 performance heavily favors NVIDIA. A 580 nearly matching a 6990 (dual GPU)... something's wrong there. We'll probably get a driver update soon.

How do you get it playable at 1080p on a 6970 when I get 20fps on a 6950? :P

But you said at 1080p it runs fine?

Probably not when recording. That always halves framerate for me.

Is tessellation missing for anyone else in multiplayer?

FRAPS cuts FPS in half for me, I get like 15 fps if I try to record @ 1080p. Otherwise it's 30 average.

EDIT, here is a performance tip I found, change the tessellation factor in CCC under Application 3D settings to 6x. I don't notice a difference and it boosted my framerate by at least 5-10 FPS.

Seems like PC gamers have got the system killer that they wanted at least. Pity it wasn't ready back in March.

I get like 40fps with on Ultra with DX11. There is no difference in performance when I reduce the settings to Extreme or Very High. DX11 lags on any settings.

I reverted back to DX9 Ultra with HQ Textures and now I get 60fps. Frankly DX9 is advantageous in multiplayer.

I'd agree with that. DX11 makes the glare much worse, but it is more accurate to real life. Smoke effects are also much harder to see through with DX11.

I think the trade off is worth it though. Crysis 2 multiplayer isn't exactly competitive so I'm not too fussed.
