Downgrade from 2.71 question (newbie here!)

I'm trying to downgrade to 1.50 from 2.71, following the instructions found on this site.
Everything's gone well so far (I think), only when I navigate to the GAMES in order to run the downgrader (Called "PSPtm Update ver X.YZ), previously having placed the 1.50 and renamed file in the update directory, I get a message like "The game couldn't be started".

Could anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Thanks a bunch!

Oh yeah, the error code is 80020148, and I had to get the 1.50 from somewhere else on the net, as it's not in the download section on here anymore (unless I was too stupid to see it?)....
 
the 1.50 eboot is linked in the downgrader thread.. but ok, won't call ya stupid ;P

Seems that HEN is not running, try starting it again if you haven't already.

I'm also having the same problems with Naujoks... I get the same message "The game couldn't be started" with code 80020148...

As for running HEND... i believe thats where my problem is... copied all the necessary files and folders... when i run HEND, get a blue screen and then the PSP completely shuts down, it doesnt reboot by itself. I have to power it on myself... Just wondering if thats correct procedure to go by...

no, it should return to the XMB. Give it a few more tries
 
Thanx for your response x3sphere... i have tried over 10 times now... the same thing happens... the screen goes blue, then black... for like 10 seconds and then powers off...

Also on HEN-D... when we extract the rar file, we get 3 folders and 2 txt files... going by the instructions on the forums, we are intructed to copy the contents of the folder MS_ROOT to the root directory of the mem stick. Is that the only files we copy to the mem stick or all the other files and folders too... i.e. folders checkworks & devhook and the 2 txt files cambios.txt, changelog.txt

So far i have only copied the contents of the MS_ROOT folder to the mem stick...

yeah, that's correct.. hm, I would try formatting the ms or try with a different one. Seems like its freezing up when trying to load one of the files.
 
Alright... i'll format and give it a go... just so that i have this crystal clear... we only copy the contents of the MS_ROOT folder to the mem stick... not the other files and folders...

Also x3sphere, if by formatting it still doesn't work, i'll have to buy a new mem stick... any suggestions as to what i should buy... sorry... i'm really new at this scene...

yeah, only the contents of the MS_ROOT folder. Also, try running restore default settings.

I have a 2GB Sandisk that I got at Fry's for $60.. very reliable and has fast transfer speeds
 
Thanx x3sphere... I appreciate your effort in trying to help me out... i'll purchase a Sandisk Ultra II mem stick ... I'll report back with my experience... It might help someone else who is having similar problems.
 
As i said with my earlier post, i'll report back with my experiences using a new mem stick... i have just purchased a Sandisk Ultra II mem stick... formatted and copied the required files to run HEND... unfortunately i'm still experiencing the same problems as earlier on...

has anyone got any suggestions as to what i should try next...???

ah man, don't know what to tell ya. You are doing everything correct.. just keep trying to load it I guess.

or you could upgrade to 2.80 and run the 2.8 downgrader (make sure you upgrade to 2.80, 2.81 requires GTA).
 
gohard,I used to have this problem.I found you have to let the picture form and leave it a few seconds before clicking on it.Don't know if you've already tried this,but it worked for me!
 
thanx x3sphere and dekard10... unfortunately, hend wasnt working for me... so i thought i'll try henc... and that seems to work coz it rebooted by itself straight away when executed...

so the question is, is it okay to use henc to downgrade to fw 1.5 then to upgrade to 3.10??

yeah, its fine to use HEN-C.

HEN-D was only released to fix some minor bugs (not related to downgrading).
 
okay guyz i think i have figured this out... i compared all the available versions of hen.. that is hena, henb,henb2, henc, and hend... the difference with hend was that in the folder MS_ROOT/PSP there was only a PHOTO folder... it didn't include the GAME folder like all the other releases... so what i did was i copied the game folder from the henc release to the hend release... executed hend and it worked... i have now successfully downgraded to version 1.5...

hope this helps other who might experience such an issue...

nice one!Let me know what you think of 3.10,I'm on 3.03 oe-c and not sure if there are any advantages to upgrading after reading various reveiws.Customization issues etc.
