Dual monitor help.

I am trying to connect a 42" 1080p to the DVI port of a laptop using a DVI-to-HDMI Cable.

ATI's Software detects that the tv is hooked up so in the software i see 2 displays..

Laptop LCD and LG HD TV... However when i apply the settings using clone, or even extended the tv displays "No Signal" even though everything is hooked up correctly.

If anyone knows what may be the problem please let me know.. ( i was thinking maybe bad dvi port, or hdmi circuit )

Is the laptop outputting at/for 1080p? Maybe it's not and that's the problem, maybe it's not progressive-scan compatible?:confused1:

TBH I'm outta my league here, I'm not familiar with HD, but yeah, just figured I'd chime in.
