EMERGENCY!!!

I'm sorry about this but I just followed the 3.40 OE-A tutorial on this forum. I did everything correct. When I started the update on my PSP it had some words and stuff then the screen when black. I don't know if I bricked my psp or it just turned off or if it is still on. Please, I hope someone has an answer.

Edit: I just hit the power button. I am sure that was a dump mistake. After hitting it there was no indication that it turned off or on the PSP. I am really worried.

Edit 2: I got the PSP to turn on. I would like to know how to backup the Flash0 stuff? I have tried toggling the USB in recovery mode but no luck. I am on fw 3.10 OE-B if that helps.

can you remember anything the screen said before it went blank. Normally it would say process completed auto shutdown of PSP. you will need to manually reboot. but if you have nothing at all on screen when starting this is a bad sign.
try taking out the battery to rest the power then switch it back on.

try and download the updates again (maybe they are corrupted?) and make the DXar file again, try updating then..

OOORRR!! maybe you just saw the "not enough battery" warning that is a security measure
you have to have more than 75% of battery BEFORE making an update to the firmware..

Backups aren't of much use.. you can't restore once bricked. If you semi-brick it is better to restore the whole firmware.

Anyways, did you try hitting the brightness button when this happened? Maybe your backlit went out.

Not to make a joke in a serious post but that happened to me my backlight went out and I thought I bricked my psp. Naturally I stayed calm..... ie almost threw psp against the wall. Then I started fooling around with buttons. I had the lock button on and backlight went out. doooooo... That was scarier then that maze game in off topic.
