Feature Suggestion: User-customized icons/covers and game completion markers

Hi Exophase Team,

First of all, I'd like to congratulate you on the amazing work you do with the website. As an active user, I wanted to share a couple of feature ideas that I believe would make the platform even more engaging and personalized for the community.

Here are my suggestions:

1. Individual Customization for Game Icons and Covers
It would be awesome if the site allowed users to individually edit and change game icons and covers displayed on their own profiles.
Players have very different tastes: some (like me) prefer icons that highlight characters along with the game logo, while others prefer the full cover art, even if it scales down quite small. To avoid endless forum debates over "which image is better" and to respect everyone's personal preference, allowing users to upload their own versions (whether downloaded or custom-made in Photoshop) would be the perfect solution. This way, everyone can personalize their profile without changing the default image for anyone else. A newer ranking site called YourGamerProfile implemented a similar customization feature, and it works really well.

2. Manual "Game Cleared/Beaten" Marker
Another great addition would be the option to manually mark a game as "cleared" or "beaten" on our profile. A great inspiration for this is RetroAchievements, where a game's icon gets a neat, distinct border once you finish it. Since Exophase tracks achievements, having a visual distinction (like a special

Personalized icon uploads are something we could offer for premium members, definitely not for all users though. Storage costs have gone way up for the time being. Over time the expectation would always be that hardware got cheaper but this has not been the case past few years thanks to AI.

I don't know if the site you mention has any limits but in order to keep things sustainable I would think a storage limit per member would need to be in place, like 50MB. So that's likely good for 400-500 icons if compressed properly. Maybe that would be enough?

As for the second suggestion, manually marking games as beaten, it's being added soon.

Thanks for the response!

I completely agree with making personalized icon uploads an exclusive feature for Premium members. A 50 MB limit sounds more than fair (400–500 icons is plenty!), and it’s a great way to keep storage costs sustainable while giving users who love customization a solid reason to upgrade to Premium.

Also, that's awesome news about the manual "game beaten" feature coming soon! Really looking forward to it.

Appreciate your time and all the work you put into the site!
