For those interested about having GPS to work on your PSP

i have a gps unit and it does take ages, but i have find it no more quicker on the slim.

hmmmm i'll try again though now ;-)

the set-up I have is as follows..

on the VSH menu from the custom firmware..

I jacked up both xmb & game to 333mhz

i don't know if that makes a difference.

and also I also have defragmented the Memory Stick maybe about 5 times.,

this also might have made a difference in terms of loading time...

but I really don't think it has a direct contact with GPS being able to receive satellite lock-on

still... do give it a try.
