Microsoft announced today that Forza Motorsport 3, the latest entry in its flagship racing series, has gone gold and will reach the final lap on October 27 in North American store shelves. An overseas release is scheduled for October 23 and October 22 in Europe and Asia respectively.
To raise awareness and give series newcomers a chance to play before buying, Microsoft is rolling out a demo build on Live on September 24, a month before the full game hits retailers. In addition to highlighting the game's cockpit view, it packs five selectable cars, each of which can experience exterior damage during races to, pushing the realism envelope beyond Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo series. For those feeling competitive, the rewind feature will be present in this demo, allowing players to rewind races in slow motion and find ways to shave time off their best lap.
