Thanks for the uploads. Unfortunately a lot of these are still not correctly formatted. They are the correct size, but I can see that some of the images are stretched. For example this image has the correct proportions (though it's too small to use as a background image):

3346.png

In comparison, yours is clearly stretched beyond its original aspect ratio. You can't do that just to meet the size requirements. One option is to find a bigger size image and crop it. If one isn't available, then it may be better just to leave it be.

I did upload the images that looked correct.

If you don't find a correct aspect ratio image (@JCKuster003), some things you could do:

  • Look up "[game] [platform] [logo] [png]" on Google images and plaster it on a simple color background (you can find a lot on https://www.steamgriddb.com/ for example)
  • Look up the main menu screenshot of a game and try to extract the image from there
eg:

You'll find something like this:

TomJerryTalesDSTitle.png

Crop it in Paint

TomJerryTalesDSTitle1.png

Use the pipette to fill out the rest of the screen, and this is perfect:

Exemplo:

Você encontrará algo parecido com isto:

View attachment 20979

Recorte-o no Paint.

View attachment 20980

I would not use these resizing websites because they are limited, they don't have the option to resize while keeping aspect ratio or crop around the logo and leave the size, etc.

Rule of thumb: never stretch images, never crop off essential parts of it (cutting background characters in half etc), never leave a platform / company logo on it. If you can't work with Paint, Photoshop or any kinds of apps (I'm not familiar with mobile apps), it's best to look for alternative solutions and just leave the official cover art, let it go, it won't work. An official logo on a simple color background (without the rectangular cover art) is perfectly alright for Exophase purposes, I think.

For this site, in my opinion, the cover art is not essential, the logo is a superior signifier of the game, and it's much easier to crop around, especially if you find a transparent one.

@x3sphere I used the Canva app to test if it will be correct this time.

The dimensions / size are fine on that one but in my opinion quality isn't quite as good compared to the current icon we have:

8jjg064.png

20260506_020227_0000-png.21002

I'm not really sure why this icon needs replacing to begin with. May be subjective, but I think the current icon is significantly more readable, especially when it's reduced to smaller size such as when browsing your profile page.

8jjg064.png

20260506_020227_0000-png.21002

Usually if a icon we already have is good enough quality I don't approve replacements for those. It's better to focus on ones that have obvious quality issues (like poor cropping of assets or cut off text).

If the current icon we had was of poor quality, then yes I'd approve that image though. That is better than some of the earlier uploads. So you are on the right track.
