Consumer Games adding achievements after you have beaten them

I recently found out that a couple of games I've already completed got extra achievements I'm really not willing to do anymore. It's just dumb, specially in Google Play and Steam (for the most part) because there's no way to separate the new chievos from the main list, as DLCs do in PSN and Xbox. I mean, I like Crossy Road, but dude, I'm not into it to the point of becoming a Crossy Road tryhard to get some stupid ranking achievements just to have the game at 100% again, I've got better stuff to do, I'll just delete the achievements if possible and move on. Devs should avoid achievement updates to get players back, it's just annoying and cheap. Create new content for the game instead. Anyways, I'd be glad to know if more games are doing this to just avoid them completely.

I've seen it a lot on Apple achievements and Apple Arcade games are notorious for adding tons of achievements. Angry birds bounce launched with a single achievement and has now ballooned to a staggering 82 achievements of bloat.

It seems to be happening more on Google Play as you mentioned. Retro achievements tends do revisions of sets which usually adds achievements. Any major release on PlayStation, Xbox, or Steam as you mentioned will likely have DLC achievements. I think it will be difficult to avoid this going forward, unless you choose to play older games where the developers have likely moved on.

Yeah, that kinda sucks. I get it for DLCs, but the way Google Play and Apple manage achievements list is just nonsense at this point. If you try to complete a game in those platforms you need to be fast because they can update the game and glitch the achievements, disable the achievements or even delist the game entirely including your download history. It's a known issue that some of us had to redownload older versions of games we've already bought in the past just because chievos stopped working after the last update or the game got deleted completely from our library. Hell, even when you try to play singleplayer games on mobile they manage to ruin your experience.
